Today, Indian Agriculture is at cross roads, though which we have been able to make the country self-sufficient in food grain production. We could achieve this due to untiring efforts of the farming community backed by the efforts of Agricultural Scientists in providing new technology. Yet food and nutrition security will eludes a large segment of rural and urban poor. Despite advancement in science and technology and increase in production, the proportion of population dependent on agriculture has not declined much.
Keeping in views the object, Jeevan Jyot Charitable Trust, Parbhani has established Rajiv Gandhi College of Agriculture, Parbhani affilated to V.N.M.K.V.,Parbhani, Parbhani in the year 2002. The college has been consistently maintaining high academic standards as evidenced by the fact that many of our alumni students have been qualified entrance examination for post graduation study conducted by ICAR, New Delhi at national level and MCAER, Pune at state level. This is the seventh year of this college. The first batch of 23 and second batch of 44 students has been passed out from this college with excellent academic performance.
